To accompany a special screening of the 1986 cult-horror classic The Fly, Noods Radio, DIY Cinema and The Watershed are launching a competition inviting filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from around the world to create an original horror film lasting no more than 30 seconds.

Think grotesque transformations, DIY practical effects and stomach-churning body horror—inspired by cult classics such as The Thing, Videodrome, Re-Animator, The Evil Dead and, of course, The Fly.

The selected films will be shown on the big screen in Watershed’s 197-seat cinema immediately before the main feature, giving filmmakers the opportunity to have their work presented to a live audience.

The challenge is simple: fright, disgust or completely unsettle us in just 30 seconds.
