A Song Is Not An Island
20.04.26Two springs ago, I began to fantasize about the idea of a mix that could be a bit like a robot’s favorite playlist, stored on its iPod, in some other world.
Here it is, two years later: a selection with electronic, new wave, and synth-pop edges, ranging from the robotic voices of Kraftwerk to the distorted ones of Virgo Four and Lemon Jelly, and to the differently human voice of Grace Jones. A mix that never quite manages to be serious, and that winks at an atmosphere that is at times delirious, at times melancholic.

A Song Is Not An Island
An hour from a wide range of genres that wants to enhance the inexhaustible secret of music. A song doesn't stand alone, it is not an island, it always refers back to others, it is connected to other songs with sometimes thick and sometimes thin threads; When you listen to a song in a mix, even if you already know it, it is like listening to it in a new way, thanks to this interconnection. It could communicate new stories, new worlds.
